3CMA (City-County Communications & Marketing Association) is a non-profit professional organization of local government communicators and marketers who celebrate its mission of "Connecting local government innovators to achieve the highest ideals of public service through the power of communications and marketing."  The organization continues to build its network of individuals committed to improving government/citizen relationships and the delivery of services through the application of tested and innovative marketing strategies and techniques.
 
3CMA is looking for a Projects Specialist to join our team.  With general direction performs a variety of administrative and analytical duties in support of 3CMA programs, conferences and operations. The person develops implements and monitors assigned programs and projects, conducts research, complies data and makes appropriate recommendations based on analysis, prepares reports to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of operations, and performs a variety of responsible professional tasks assigned to assist in meeting the goals and objectives of the Association. 
 
Physical Demands and Working Environment 
Require sufficient physical ability to work in an office and operate office equipment with frequent side to side turning, walking, standing, bending, stooping, pushing/pulling and some occasional lifting of materials not to exceed 51 pounds.  Environment is both informal and formal office setting with some out of town travel and occasional evening or weekend work.  Both team and independent oriented work is expected with variable tasks, pace and pressures the norm.
 
Required Skills
  • Excellent verbal and writing skills
  • Ability to communicate with a wide variety of people representing multiple organizations.
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships with members, staff and related organizations.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Update website using CMS (Content Management Systems) and strong command of social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn.
  • Proficient in use of computers and related equipment, hardware and software specifically Microsoft  Outlook, Word, Power Point, Access and Excel.
  • Ability to work under deadlines and stressful situations.
  • Ability to develop, analyze and interpret surveys.
  • Self-starter looking for an opportunity to grow.
  • Valid Drivers License.
  • Lifting of objects not to exceed 50 pounds.
  • Some travel will be required. (Conferences, Trade Shows, Etc.)
 
Duties
  • Provide professional support by writing and or editing digital and electronic communications and marketing materials. 
  • Responsible for editing and updating 3CMA’s digital media, including the website, Facebook pages, and Twitter accounts and mobile applications support. 
  • On a daily basis update 3CMA’s website and design webpages, convert files to PDF, prepare graphics, generate and send e-mail messages (electronic newsletter, job postings and member "Help, Please" requests) to the membership using a bulk e-mail program, corresponds and develops online discussion forums and similar interactive tools that solicit information and feedback from the membership. 
  • Provide support for both Regional and Annual Conferences.  (Working with planning committee, topic suggestions, room configuration, speaker confirmation, audio visual set-up/basic troubleshooting, etc.)
  • Savvy Awards support. (Work with membership while entries are being received.  Help to run awards program.  Catalog entries are received and supporting documentation.)
  • Provide editing and production assistance for social media, videos, and printed communications (e.g., brochures, posters, news releases) as assigned.
  • Highly motivated and able to work well in a team environment. Ability to coordinate multiple deadlines working with staff at all levels.
  • Perform other similar duties as assigned.
