- Long Beach Transit, CA - We have an information page online and have posted this poster in common areas for employees.
- City of Bowie, MD We produced a video about prevention and preparedness for our residents. We did it yesterday and had to revise it this morning after the announcement that there were confirmed cases in MD. It mentions Bowie several times, but it might give others an idea of what they can do. It has only been out a couple hours and already had 350+views on Facebook. We’ve also created a coronavirus page on our website: www.cityofbowie.org/corona
- City of Auburn, WA Here is our press release for announcing a state of emergency and our website has a special section, http://auburnwa.gov/covid19
- McLean County, IL - News Release - 2/12/2020
- City of Fort Lauderdale, FL The City of Fort Lauderdale is updating this web page regularly. We are working on some internal materials. I will share as they are complete.
- City of Clovis, NM I wanted to share that our state (NM) Department of Health is coming to our community to do a public outreach forum that will include a brief presentation and Q&A session. We have shared the event on social media and are set up to live stream it on Facebook. I have found this to be a great tactic to get subject matter experts involved in messaging and working closely with our Emergency Management team. Our state DOH has also set up a fantastic webpage that we can refer to as a resource. https://cv.nmhealth.org/
- City of Newark, DE The City of Newark created a webpage for residents that provides background information on the virus, methods for prevention and links to resources. That can be found here: https://newarkde.gov/1144/Coronavirus.
We have also been sharing (at least once a day) social media posts from CDC and the DE Division of Public Health, have been in regular contact with the local University and first responders and produced a policy for any staff that may be impacted by the virus. For example, Directors and Managers may allow staff to telecommute under appropriate circumstances, staff may use sick time to care for an ill family member and we will not require a doctor’s note from anyone that misses work. We are also encouraging staff not to go to any work-based conferences, if possible, and limit in-person meetings.
Handwashing flyers have been laminated and posted in all public and employee restrooms and graphics with best practices were designed and placed on our TVs throughout city hall and other municipal buildings. Our janitorial staff has increased the frequency of disinfection of conference rooms, door handles, countertops, etc. and Lysol/Clorox wipes and hand sanitizer is available. We are also willing to reimburse staff that bring their own cleaning supplies from home.
We have weekly City Council meetings and are waiting to hear back from the AG’s office if it’s acceptable to close the meetings to the public. The meetings are livestreamed so we are hoping this won’t prevent an issue. We also have an election next month and have begun encouraging residents to vote using an absentee ballot. - City of Lincoln, NE We are doing and planning regular community briefings that involve officials with the City, health department, public schools, university, medical community, chamber of commerce, etc. This is the one we did Monday (View Video), and we are planning to do another one tomorrow. This sends the message that all parts of community are working together on preparedness and response. It also allows the media to get all their questions answered at one time instead of calling all the entities separately.
- City of Frederick, MD NewsAlert
- City of Winchester, VA We added a web page to our website and will update as needed. Our main message right now is proper hygiene and rely on the authorities for information (not SM!).
- City of Beaverton, OR - COVID-19 Webpage for the Community
- Eagle Mountain City, UT Our city has distributed the following info as a preliminary notice as there are no confirmed cases in Utah at this time. We are focused on pushing prevention and preparation info at this time and having internal meetings to plan for contingencies to continue providing essential services in the event that city offices would close down.

We are primarily deferring to the state and county health departments and the governor has created a task force led by the lt. governor. They have established resources at the links below and the attached graphics.
Utah Poison Control Center and UDOH have set up a hotline where people can listen to a recorded message to find out if they need testing. 1-800-456-7707 - City of Kent, WA - King County, WA Webpage on COVID-19
