Brian Ligon is the Community Relations Director for the City of Pasadena, Texas. A graduate of Baylor University, Brian began his career in broadcast television, spending 17 years specializing in production and marketing before transitioning to local government communications in 2012 with the City of Round Rock, Texas.
In 2018, Brian joined the City of Mont Belvieu as its first full-time communications professional, where he led strategic communications efforts and spearheaded the marketing and public outreach for the launch of MB Link, Texas' first municipal broadband internet utility. His innovative approach helped redefine how local government engages with residents, earning numerous state and national awards while challenging the notion that government communications is dry or boring.
Brian recently joined the City of Pasadena, Texas, where he continues to build on his passion for storytelling, public engagement, and innovative communications in local government.
While Brian is proud of the professional recognition he has received throughout his career, he considers his greatest accomplishment to be his role as husband to Jessica and father to Zak.
A longtime member of 3CMA, Brian currently serves as President-Elect of the association and is committed to advancing the profession through leadership, collaboration, and mentorship.
