Mitch Beaumont is the Communication Manager for the City of La Vista, Nebraska. He is responsible for the day-to-day operations of La Vista’s Communication Division, which is a small and might team of Mitch and one other full-time employee. His responsibilities include implementation of the City’s brand, supervision of the City’s social media presence and other digital channels including the website, maintaining community relationships and partnerships, ensuring appropriate public engagement and customer service as well as internal communication and video production. La Vista produces six direct mail publications each year, a quarterly newsletter and a twice-a-year Community Guide. Mitch has worked for the City of La Vista for 15 years. Previous to that he learned the ropes in PR at AAA Nebraska and before that spent five years as a newspaper reporter and editor at weeklies in South Dakota and Nebraska.
Mitch has his Master’s Degree in Public Administration and Bachelor’s Degree in Communication: Journalism, both from Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa. He earned his Certified Public Communicator designation in 2016, he is a FEMA-credentialed PIO and FAA-licensed drone pilot. He is active on several 3CMA committees and is also a member of the Government Social Media organization. You can find Mitch outside of his work hanging out with his wife, Annette, and two boys, Lucas and Trenton, as well as spending time with their Labradoodle, Finn, and their cat, Miles.
