In 2021, Edina, Minnesota, experienced an increase in thefts. Most cases were considered “crimes of opportunity” and involved unlocked vehicles, vehicles with visible valuables left inside or in homes with open garage doors. To decrease the number of thefts from unlocked homes and vehicles, the City of Edina produced a 1950s-inspired PSA, "Lock Around the Clock."
Drowning can happen in just a few seconds so teaching your community about pool safety is crucial. With the help of their talented Fire Department and Finance Director, the City of Colleyville, TX was able to create this fun yet informative video highlighting the importance of pool safety. Inspired by the talents of late 90's band "LFO," we DARE you to not get this song and, more importantly, message stuck in your head!

This rejected “10 Questions with…” PSA is a spoof of the real show, in a dark comedy situation, within one city employee interrogating another employee and asking uncomfortable questions.

This rejected show is spoof of “Hello McAllen” putting viewers to sleep, instead of informing the community on all things McAllen.

It stays hot most of the year in Florida, so freezing temperatures are rare. But unexpected cold weather can present many dangers to the safety of people and property. To help ensure that its citizens were prepared for the winter season, the City of Tallahassee developed a proactive approach by creating a four-part video series. These videos promoted the 4 Ps of cold weather preparedness to keep people, property, plants and pets safe through the winter season.

In the spring, he wasn't ready for the delivery of Windsor's popular magazine and was struck in the head when it was delivered because he didn't "Pay Attention." He re-lived that traumatic moment over and over again, and vowed it would never be repeated. He committed himself to "Be Ready" in the fall for the delivery of the next Windsor magazine. Would history repeat itself, or would he raise his fisted hands in victory?
After 10 years of airtime, our gas safety and safe digging PSA commercials needed to be updated. With diminishing viewer recall and changing attitudes in the community on natural gas consumption, the time was right to reimagine their impact on the public. Our updated commercials provide new energy to important safety messages while maintaining the familiar presence of Flicker the Flame and engage a broad range of demographics with a mindful approach to gas safety awareness in a community committed to climate action planning.
When our seasons change and fall turns to winter, we get some customer calls about cloudy water coming out of the tap. What is it? Is it safe? We created an animated explainer video to help walk our customers through this natural phenomenon.
The VaxUpND campaign featured essential workers (police, public health, food service professionals, educators and firefighters), NCAA Division I collegiate athletes, community organizers, small business owners, university leaders, senior citizens, young children and more. The Communications and Governmental Affairs team work diligently to ensure the community was well-represented by those featured in the campaign. The campaign website (ForAllofUs.com) was also used as the VaxUpND campaign’s call to action – "VaxUpND…ForAllofUs" to very clearly illustrate the community-centric rationale behind vaccinations. That is, it is not just about you; it’s about (and for) all of us.
Keeping residents engaged all year long to ensure they don't become complacent about the importance of being as prepared as they possibly can be before storm season is a high priority for Palm Beach County. Writing, producing and editing a series of creative and entertaining short video clips has helped us do just that.
Leaf collection is an annual service provided by the City of Hilliard operations team, and in 2022, their goal was to remind people that it's back! In this fun, light-hearted, yet informative parody song, members of the operations staff generate excitement for the return of leaf collection season, while also providing important details about the program. In the end, it was an unbe-leaf-able success, with a total reach of over 10,000 people across all platforms, as well as media coverage, and raised awareness about the leaf collection program to Hilliard residents.
The City of Rancho Mirage’s investment in public safety includes technologies that aid in crime prevention and detection. One such example is the Automated License Plate Reader (ALPR) system. This system features cameras that scan vehicle license plates and compare them to law enforcement databases to identify stolen or wanted vehicles, lost or stolen license plates, or vehicles associated with missing or wanted people. The ALPR technology is a valuable tool for law enforcement, and Rancho Mirage has invested in this equipment to aid in crime prevention and detection. This dynamic video highlights the importance of Senate Bill 1383, a mandatory recycling ordinance designed to reduce climate pollutants and minimize negative environmental impacts. Through clear and concise explanations, the PSA educates viewers on the proper disposal of organic waste and the significance of diverting it from landfills. With a focus on community engagement, the video provides step-by-step instructions and practical tips for residents, businesses, and large-menu establishments to comply with the new recycling guidelines. Being able to get consistent footage of our hard working snow clean up crew can be a challenge. They are constantly on the move and focused on the job at hand. The use of a drone helped locate our crews and we were able to capture some great footage of them working hard to ensure our roads were safe for driving!
The Forward Dallas Comprehensive Land Use Plan Update is a generational initiative designed to guide Dallas’ development for decades to come. As part of a comprehensive marketing campaign, this video PSA was created to get people interested and engaged in the process. We specifically highlighted the diversity of the team working on the plan and tried to write the piece in a way that really grabbed peoples’ attention to make them aware of the importance and long-reaching effects this plan update will have on Dallas. This piece has been featured on the Forward Dallas web page, government access cable channels, and shared through social media.
In November of 2022, the neighboring city of Dickinson sent the Grinch to League City. League City used this fun bit of holiday hijinks to highlight a special "Empty the Shelters" program at their Animal Shelter, complete with their own take on this classic Dr. Seuss tale.
This PSA was a collaboration between the Communications Department and the Gaston County Police Department. Featuring a fast pace, humorous script, and tight edit, it informs the public of simple ways to protect their vehicles from crime while simultaneously maximizing reach with minimal resources.
